IIDD, June 13th

Hello Bridge Fiends!

Cora Lee and I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful evening indeed! Lovely to meet Mary and get to know her along with Nancy and Susan, only having meet them briefly before. Kerry and Tia, sorry you had to leave a bit earlier than others, but understand of course that Tia had to put her Mom to bed!!!

Thanks again, to everyone for the wonderful contributions of food, simply delicious. Everything from the superb appetizers, (M/M, The Weasel Penguin), to the salads, (W/K/, N/G, [I had the overlefts for lunch today and I'd like to suggest that you make larger portions next time!), to the desserts, (S/M, please don't put as much hash in the next set of brownies. I almost recycled your black tin as I was still feeling pretty high this morning! Don't worry, it will be ready for next NRBC, waiting to be refilled!), [Milton, I will be enjoying the remains of your great cake this evening while watching Masterpiece Theatre, taped, and sipping Wild Turkey, (Sorree, Sorree!!), was more than fantabulosos! Maggie wants to be included in the thank you as well. She is feasting on the skin of the sustainably harvested, natural, wild salmon, and her fur is shining as brightly as her devil eyes! Our hope is that she will run away from home in search of the school Whirlygig's/Kerry's fish swam with. With any luck, that it is somewhere in Alaska!

I would be remiss if I did not single out the Weasel Penguin for her expertise on the bridge front, and her willingness to share her considerable skill and knowledge. It's lucky that she can bid well as she she does as her running is in question. However, there is always room for improvement, whether on the tarmac or at the bridge table. Echoing Stiltenheimer, I do hope we can do this again. Perhaps later in the summer when we might actually be able to have a table outside, where Milton can partner with Maggie and say Sorree to her when he goes down, yet again!

Fondestos and Cheers, Cora Lee and Patrizio!

Hi Donna Maria and Heraldo!

Trust you are safely home! Belated Happy Birthday Greetings to Heraldo! Hip Hip Hooray!!! Cora Lee said he hardly looked 70!

We'll leave the Frida Kahlo bag at your place tonight. I took the liberty of taking an extra key to the apartment when we were last over. Plan to have about 50 friends over to watch Canucks tonight. Don't worry as most of them are in their mid-twenties and only drink beer so your wine will be safe. For your sake, I hope the Canucks win or you may well have some fairly extensive redecorating to do! Think positively and I'm sure all will be well, both for Canucks and your lovely suite!

Took Sharktooth Annie around part of Granville Island, in her wheelchair, yesterday, in early afternoon. Loads of activity with kids at water park, tourists, buskers, and the like so she seemed to enjoy and respond to stimulation. Now that weather is warming up plan to make it a regular outing.

Chloë returned from Vegas at 2:00am this morning. Had a good time, wedding went well, etc., but she's glad to be home. She's not really a Vegas person as she found smell of smoke in casinos nauseating and much of food was not to her liking. Came to our place at 7:35am this morning to ask one of us to drive her downtown to her union negotiating meeting. As you can imagine, she was pretty tired after non-stop weekend and then late flight. Will debrief her later.

Thought that you might enjoy following if you've not already seen it:

Looking forward to "penciling" you in on our extremely busy social calendar. Please send dates as soon as possible or I will not return your key! Fondestos and Cheers, Patrizio!

Last missive from Flamin' and Sarge:

Greetings from Firenze:

Had a great day yesterday driving through countryside of Toscana went to Greve , castillina and then onto Siena . In wine store in Greve you bought 10 E Card put your wine glass underneath an automatic pour and paid as you went, found this to be a bit impersonal. And did not try anything , found out that chianti is Sangiovese grape good to know and perhaps reason I enjoy it so much. The countryside is absolutely breathtaking , colours are Amazing . We joined up with John and Marion who will be on our bike trip at the hotel in the evening and then to dinner for a fabulous meal. The restaurant was run by a family of three with mom cooking the meals and junior waiting on us. It was rated the best in Florence. Quite rustic only has room for a tight 14 patrons , service was personable and food lived up to the hype very reasonable priced as well, but need reservations. We are now on our way to Bari which is a 7 hour drive hopefully will be able to stop for a swim along the way. The bike trip starts tomorrow so will hopefully wear off the pasta, and wine. Heard Canucks won say replays and crowds on the street. Write zoom. Love to all. M

Not sure if she is having trouble with her new iPad II or just too, too much vino!

Hi Patrick

I am well. Indeed. I had a good time in asia having my guesthouse. I just sold it last month. It was a good experience and I am looking for new projects. Next Trip is planned to go to Bhutan. I met 3 very high Buddhist masters from there in Kuala Lumpur.
You are still so sportive and active. I am proud of you. I did some mountainbike Downhill in Chiang Mai Thailand. I know a guide he knows alot of great trails. but now I just came back from switzerland. have to find a contract for a while to earn some money so i can leave soon again. but by the way I am starting 2 different new businesses in switzerland. And I have to do some Apple Professional Certificates. After that I will do a new overseas project.
Check out my facebook. I bought two new bikes. Wow, after many years I got new bikes. Cannot wait to ride it. Right now I am so busy since I am back. Dont find the time for these activities. My surged shoulder is good. I cannot move same range anymore but for my activities it is enough. so i am ok. I wish your shoulder will be good soon. All the best.
My best wishes for you and Family :-)
Marco
