IIDD, Nov 19th

Just thought of the time Mom flew to L.A. from Vancouver for a visit and she got off the plane pissed off because they had confiscated the huge butcher knife she had stowed in her carry-on...she just wanted her eldest daughter to have one decent damn knife in her kitchen!!

    • Patrick James Dunn I think you prefer the sanitized version. In fact, she was on a debt collection mission that went terribly wrong!

    • Patrick James Dunn Hello Cruel Swiss Host Daughter: How is it you have time to listen to music and not communicate with your Dear Host Parentos?
Is Kerry the one who can't play !?

Hi Carlos The Jackal!

No, you are confusing her with Champagne Charlie! Cheers, Patrizio Goren!

Hello Patrick & Corinne,

Hope this note finds you well - perhaps away on one of your mini-trips?  How is your Mom keeping these days - same as the last time you wrote, around her birthday?  My Mom was finishing up some work in the garden on Thanksgiving Sunday, putting things away in the garage and somehow the door slammed onto her thumb and broke it, her right one as well so she is unable to do many things.  It is healing but as the break was in a bad spot, will take time, has to do various exercises now that the bulk of the pain is gone.  What a nuisance when these happen to you as you get older!

Have a couple of questions for you with regard to the barge trip you took last year - think it was last year.  I know it was somewhere in Europe, but where exactly?  How did you find out about it?  What did it involve - did you "man" it yourself - any difficultly - cost, etc.  Was the experience enjoyable - would you recommend that type of trip?  Is it something just the two of you did or did you join up with some friends.  And anything else you can tell me about it.

We had a good time in the Netherlands this past October - spent a couple of days in both Amsterdam and Rotterdam before renting a car and just toured about the countryside, mostly to the north of the country.  Stayed off the freeways for most part and just enjoyed the smaller towns and countryside.

Have been thinking about doing a European River cruise at some point, or possibly a Mediterranean cruise - any suggestions in that area?

Are your plans all set for this winter - still going to Australia for 3 months I think you said.  Are there any places left in this world that you haven't yet visited? If you have a minute, drop me a message.
Bye for  now. Roma & Leonard
