Pat,

The Jaguar is due Feb.10 and the collaborative novel Heads You Lose due Feb.16. I finished that one last night, so if you want to borrow it, you're welcome. I can't drop by today but possibly on another day soon. If you are anywhere in the neighborhood, feel free to pick it up.

Sylvia thinks Corinne is doing very well. Hopefully she'll be moving comfortably by the time you leave.

Ray

Hi Raymond!

Thanks for letting me know about due dates. I'd like to take a look at Heads You Lose so perhaps we can arrange for a pick-up or a drop-off.  Her Majesty is doing well and I'll be chauffeuring her to her second physio appointment this afternoon. I know she appreciated the tips Sylvia passed along and Her Highness has instructed me to convey her Royal Thanks!!!

Forecast looks promising for Wednesday so am wondering if you are interested/available, for a ride. Not sure which other Riders of the Purple Sage, other than Whirlygig, might wish to join the peleton. Notwithstanding, let me know and we'll plan accordingly. We could explore more of Spirit Trail. From looking at some sites, I think that it might go along the north side of Welch Street and West 1st Street from Pemberton Avenue to MacKay Avenue. Eventually, I gather, "The Spirit Trail will be a unique, waterfront-oriented, multi-use and fully accessible greenway that will provide pedestrians, cyclists, inline skaters and people with wheeled mobility aids access across the North Shore, from Horseshoe Bay to Deep Cove."

Here is a ride of another sort:

You are on quite a ride ..... turn up the sound. It's not over till it asks if you want to view again.

This clever piece originated in Australia . It is so very well done most folks don't realize how much info he is sharing! Just click on the link below..... Speakers on. Photos by NASA.

Enjoy your journey!

Hi Tinsel Town!

Glad you enjoyed the pics,Mata Hari! Which Layer Cake? Am curious about cost. Very pricey here at around $30-$33CDN.

Wanted to comment on your "iPhone users...Apple has nets around their Chinese factories to prevent more suicides due to poor working conditions...enjoy your shiny blood toys - CBS News Sunday Morning" Don't be so righteous as you need to see Blood in the Mobile, Blod i mobilen, Denmark , Germany, 2010, 82 mins, Digibeta. In French with English subtitles. Directed By: Frank Piasecki Poulsen. I saw it this past fall at the VIFF:

"Over the past 15 years, more than five million people have perished in the Democratic Republic of Congo's bloody civil war. Perhaps even more alarmingly: many of them have died because of our cell phones. Journeying to the anarchic African nation, documentarian Frank Poulsen fearlessly confronts the ruthless militant groups battling for control of the mines supplying the “blood minerals” that power our mobile devices. Gruesome accounts of the intimidation tactics employed by these fiendish warlords (as well as a hellish foray into a perilous mine) will leave even the most hardened viewer rattled.

In turn, Poulsen's subsequent search for answers at Nokia's corporate headquarters will have audiences seething. As the increasingly agitated filmmaker is given the Kafka-esque run-around by the cold-blooded suits, a galling lack of accountability is laid bare. While everyone takes great pride in Nokia's gaudy profits, no one at the purportedly socially responsible corporation is willing to discuss the human cost of their success. Infuriatingly, the most anyone will say about the ethical quagmire that their dubious supply chain has embroiled them in is: “It's tricky...”

Cheers, Poppa "WE Don't Need No Stinkin' Cell Phones" San!
